Review & Giveaway: Ultreo Ultrasound Toothbrush

**This giveaway has closed. Please check back each Monday for our newest giveaway!!!**
I was so excited to get a chance to review the Ultreo Ultrasound Toothbrush. This scientifically based product was developed at the University of Washington and it's offices are in Redmond, WA, not too far from where I grew up.

I couldn't wait to try it. It arrived on my doorstep early the other morning before I'd had a chance to brush my teeth- perfect! I quickly opened it up, read over the information manual and promptly tried it out. Two minutes later my mouth felt as clean as if I had just come straight from the dentist.

This toothbrush isn't your ordinary toothbrush. The owner's manual says "Ultreo's bristle action creates bubbles that are powerfully activated by nearly 4 million cycles of ultrasound energy per brushing channeled by a proprietary ultrasound waveguide for an incredible, long-lasting feeling of clean."

The Ultreo features:

  • An auto shut off time that automatically shuts off the toothbrush after the dental- professional recommended 2 minutes of brushing time.

  • A brushing interval signal that beeps every 30 seconds to help you clean all areas of your mouth equally
  • A slim-wasted handle that is ergonomically designed to fit perfectly in your hand for comfort and easy maneuvering.

  • Charger base and wall plug that is ultra-compact and ultra-sleek with a universal voltage wall plug.

  • Sonic action bristles with power tip that creates microbubbles and cleans away plaque upon contact

  • Ultrasound waveguide that channels ultrasound energy into the microbubbles

  • Ultra-slim neck that allows for easy access to the back of the mouth

  • Snap-on brush head that is easy to remove and a snap to clean

  • Programmable ultrasound brush head replacement indicator that tells you when it's time to change your brush head. Programmable for 1 or 2 users per handle.

  • Battery charge status indicator that tells you the level of charge on the battery. You can use the Ultreo up to 28 brushings without additional charging.
The Ultreo also comes with a really nice plastic travel caddy to keep it clean and safe when travelling away from home.

With the Ultreo it takes just two minutes twice a day for cleaner, whiter teeth and healthy gums.

The Ultreo retails for $149.99 and comes with a 2 year warranty and a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. It is available at http://www.ultreo.com/, amazon.com, Frontgate, Walgreens, Drugstore.com, Bartell Drugs and other fine retailers.

To receive a free brush head for the Ultreo, check out Send a Smile.

A few days after receiving the Ultreo, I heard the familiar sound the toothbrush makes when it's time to switch sections of the mouth coming from the bathroom while I was making breakfast. I should have known my husband couldn't keep his hands off of any sort of electrical gadget. Guess we'll have to get an extra head. In the meantime, I'll let him keep it for himself since he says "my mouth has never felt cleaner!" In fact, he tried to convince me that I should CHARGE people to enter our drawing to win one- it's that good!

Feeling Lucky? Enter to win an Ultreo of your very own. It's free to enter- all you have to do is leave a comment on why oral health care is so important (google it if you need to!) You have until midnight CST on Friday October 10th to enter. A winner will be selected by random number generator and notified by email. The winner will have 48 hours to respond with their mailing address or an alternate will be drawn.

For an extra entry, blog about this giveaway then leave us a comment with the link.

PLEASE remember to leave an email address when commenting so that we have a way to contact you should you be the lucky winner. This info will not be used for any other reason.

Good Luck!

This looks so wonderful! I would love to try one! Oral health has always been important to my family. I was taught the importance as a child of brushing my teeth properly and caring for my mouth to keep not only my mouth healthy, but the rest of the body too. Poor oral hygiene can lead to other very serious conditions such as Cardiovascular Disease and Osteoporosis.

Oral hygeine is very important because the germs and infection caused by poor dental hygeine can KILL you. A very funny author, Lewis Grizzard, died because the infection from a tooth travelled down to his heart and infected it, ultimately killing him. He did have a heart condition which made the infection even deadlier to him. But infection from teeth can also travel to the brain and kill you that way. So, throw that toothbrush away at your own peril.

I believe that oral health needs to be taught at an early age. I know people that did not or could not afford dental visits as children or they weren't taught by their parents how important it is to take care of your teeth and as a result of that, they are wearing dentures now. I was fortunate as a child to be able to have regular dental visits ( even tho at that time dental visits weren't near as gentle as they are now ).
When my grandchildren are over and they are brushing their teeth I make sure that I explain to them how important it is for them to take good care of their teeth now.

Oral health care is crucial for so many reasons (heart health, etc.). But one reason I personally think good oral health is important is a recent research shows that there is an increased prevalence of gum disease among those with diabetes.

I'd love to win this brush for my husband, whose mother died of complications from diabetes.

This would definitely make the kids brush a little longer, won't it? Oral hygiene is so important. It's especially great to get the kids taking good care of themselves at any early age. Thanks for the giveaway. Wish me luck!! Joanne ~~ glamourgirljoanne@yahoo.com

Oral health care is important because germs in your mouth can lead to other parts of your body.

Aside from the visual appearance of clean teeth (which to be honest is more for people looking AT you!) good oral health is becoming more recognized as important to total health. This is especially true when you consider the effect bacterial peridontal disease can have on your cardiac system.

Not only is oral health tied to cardiovascular health, it's nice to be able to eat solid food in your old age, as well. ;-)

Your mouth is the gateway to all the systems in your body so oral health is extremely important. You need to keep your mouth clean so it can do the work it needs to do without allowing harmful bacteria in to wreak havoc on your body.

Flossing is really important especially to reduce plaque. I agree with the others, your overall health is affected by your oral care.

You only get one set of permament teeth. We need to protect them.

Oral helcare is so important because your smile, or lack thereof is your first impression. With yuck mouth you really only leave a bad impression. Also, a healthy set of teeth and gums means there are probably less other health problems. Your mouth shows your illnesses, and can lead to them too. Sinus problems?? Go to the dentist. Better to have good oral hygine than that problem.

well in days gone by, people died by the time they were 50 and they didnt need to worry about keeping their teeth... now that we live to 80, we need to make sure we have some teeth stay in longer so that we can keep eating good stuff like apples. yum! crunch crunch!

oral health care is important because you only have one set of adult teeth! Who wants to gum their food?

Oral health is very important to prevent oral cancel, gingivitis, and tooth decay.

Proper oral health is something that should be taught to us as children. Even babies can learn good oral hygiene. There is nothing more disturbing than seeing a child with a mouth full of rotting teeth.

Good oral health is important because poor oral hygiene can lead to serious infections elsewhere.

After having a deep cleaning and gum scraping I know even more that oral health should be very important to everyone. Gum disease and tooth decay can lead to other problems if not taken care of properly. I would really love to own Ultreo Ultrasound Toothbrush in order to prevent the need to ever have that done again. penguinjanem at comcast dot net
