I was so excited to get a chance to review the Ultreo Ultrasound Toothbrush. This scientifically based product was developed at the University of Washington and it's offices are in Redmond, WA, not too far from where I grew up.
I couldn't wait to try it. It arrived on my doorstep early the other morning before I'd had a chance to brush my teeth- perfect! I quickly opened it up, read over the information manual and promptly tried it out. Two minutes later my mouth felt as clean as if I had just come straight from the dentist.
This toothbrush isn't your ordinary toothbrush. The owner's manual says "Ultreo's bristle action creates bubbles that are powerfully activated by nearly 4 million cycles of ultrasound energy per brushing channeled by a proprietary ultrasound waveguide for an incredible, long-lasting feeling of clean."
The Ultreo features:
- An auto shut off time that automatically shuts off the toothbrush after the dental- professional recommended 2 minutes of brushing time.
- A brushing interval signal that beeps every 30 seconds to help you clean all areas of your mouth equally
- A slim-wasted handle that is ergonomically designed to fit perfectly in your hand for comfort and easy maneuvering.
- Charger base and wall plug that is ultra-compact and ultra-sleek with a universal voltage wall plug.
- Sonic action bristles with power tip that creates microbubbles and cleans away plaque upon contact
- Ultrasound waveguide that channels ultrasound energy into the microbubbles
- Ultra-slim neck that allows for easy access to the back of the mouth
- Snap-on brush head that is easy to remove and a snap to clean
- Programmable ultrasound brush head replacement indicator that tells you when it's time to change your brush head. Programmable for 1 or 2 users per handle.
- Battery charge status indicator that tells you the level of charge on the battery. You can use the Ultreo up to 28 brushings without additional charging.
With the Ultreo it takes just two minutes twice a day for cleaner, whiter teeth and healthy gums.
The Ultreo retails for $149.99 and comes with a 2 year warranty and a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. It is available at http://www.ultreo.com/, amazon.com, Frontgate, Walgreens, Drugstore.com, Bartell Drugs and other fine retailers.
To receive a free brush head for the Ultreo, check out Send a Smile.
A few days after receiving the Ultreo, I heard the familiar sound the toothbrush makes when it's time to switch sections of the mouth coming from the bathroom while I was making breakfast. I should have known my husband couldn't keep his hands off of any sort of electrical gadget. Guess we'll have to get an extra head. In the meantime, I'll let him keep it for himself since he says "my mouth has never felt cleaner!" In fact, he tried to convince me that I should CHARGE people to enter our drawing to win one- it's that good!Feeling Lucky? Enter to win an Ultreo of your very own. It's free to enter- all you have to do is leave a comment on why oral health care is so important (google it if you need to!) You have until midnight CST on Friday October 10th to enter. A winner will be selected by random number generator and notified by email. The winner will have 48 hours to respond with their mailing address or an alternate will be drawn.
For an extra entry, blog about this giveaway then leave us a comment with the link.
PLEASE remember to leave an email address when commenting so that we have a way to contact you should you be the lucky winner. This info will not be used for any other reason.

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 500 Newer› Newest»Oral health is important because it can shows signs of other problems that may be more costly to your health.
Thanks for the contest! I know my dentist would LOVE if I used a brush like this.
sunshinekmp at yahoo dot com
This looks so wonderful! I would love to try one! Oral health has always been important to my family. I was taught the importance as a child of brushing my teeth properly and caring for my mouth to keep not only my mouth healthy, but the rest of the body too. Poor oral hygiene can lead to other very serious conditions such as Cardiovascular Disease and Osteoporosis.
jenniferhahn11@comcast.net
I would love to try this. I currently use a waterpik instead of dentalflossing. I think it works better.
vickers at comcast dot net
I brush my teeth at least twice a day. It costs way too much to see the dentist to get something fixed. avicke at cghmc dot com
Oh what an amazing giveaway!! My mouth could really use this!
thesmithclan(at)stny.rr.com
Oral hygeine is very important because the germs and infection caused by poor dental hygeine can KILL you. A very funny author, Lewis Grizzard, died because the infection from a tooth travelled down to his heart and infected it, ultimately killing him. He did have a heart condition which made the infection even deadlier to him. But infection from teeth can also travel to the brain and kill you that way. So, throw that toothbrush away at your own peril.

But it can lead to other health problems including heart attacks, strokes and gum disease. If you do not take care of your teeth you will end up paying the price later and it will be painful.

Untreated infections and diseases of the mouth and teeth have the potential to make a person extremely ill. Keeping my teeth clean is very important to me!
Oral health is the beginning of good personal hygiene. The alternative can be disfiguring and disabling, if not fatal.
I have always wanted one of these. I have sensitive gums and it is difficult for me to find a soft enough toothbrush. Oral health is extremely important, not just because of plague on your teeth, but plague on your arteries. Infections can easily travel from your mouth to other organs in your body. I see my hygenist every 6 months for a cleaning!
Besides just maintaining a clean mouth for hygenic purposes, oral health is directly related to the spread of several diseases throughout the body.
Oral hygiene is important to your overall health, plus I don't want to loose my teeth at an early age! :) I would love this. My kids and husband always steal my toothbrush with this it would be mine and I could have some claim on it esp. if I won it!
Thanks,
Kim

Oral health is important as it deters other health problems.
I believe that oral health needs to be taught at an early age. I know people that did not or could not afford dental visits as children or they weren't taught by their parents how important it is to take care of your teeth and as a result of that, they are wearing dentures now. I was fortunate as a child to be able to have regular dental visits ( even tho at that time dental visits weren't near as gentle as they are now ).
When my grandchildren are over and they are brushing their teeth I make sure that I explain to them how important it is for them to take good care of their teeth now.
I've always heard that your teeth are meant to last a lifetime. Thank you

Oral helcare is so important because your smile, or lack thereof is your first impression. With yuck mouth you really only leave a bad impression.
