Review and Giveaway: Sensible Sippers Organic Juice Boxes

by mindy on November 17, 2008

I was given the pleasure of my daughter being able to sample R.W. Knudsen Sensible Sippers Juice Boxes. Here is some background on how Sensible Sippers were developed.

In 1961, when Russel W. Knudsen began bottling fruit juices from his organic grape vineyard, he did so on one condition: his fresh pressed and blended juices would never have artificial flavors, preservatives or sugar added to them. This commitment ensured that customers who came up the hill to Knudsen’s Paradise, California, Concord grape vineyard could always buy the finest juice available. Little did the R.W. Knudsen Family® know, he was starting a tradition of innovation in health-conscious products.

The R.W. Knudsen Family® tradition of integrity, innovation and variety continues today. The company’s commitment to developing health-conscious fruit products based on consumers’ needs has led to the introduction of many refreshing ideas. To see a list of all of the products the company has to offer, visit their site: http://www.knudsenjuices.com/.

The Sensible Sippers are a very great 4.23 oz. juice box that are child friendly and unbreakable. They were the perfect size for my daughter, niece and nephew who all tried them. They sampled the apple juice and fruit punch. Obviously, I had to try a sip and I admit that my husband snuck one or two! They come with The Berenstain Bears on the boxes so they are noticable by children. The best part of the juice boxes are that they are 50% organic and 50% water, reducing the amount of sugar in each serving without compromising taste. Sensible Sippers are available in favorite kid flavors: Fruit Punch, Banana, Apple, and Mixed Berry. These juices also contain 40% fewer calories than regular juice boxes. Additionally, Sensible Sippers contain no added sugar, artificial flavors or preservatives, and are certified organic in accordance with the USDA’s National Organic Program. You can find these at Whole Foods stores nationwide.

I buy organic whenever I can. There are alot of good coupons out there. But with 5 kids, value is the #1 priority.

I’ve been making my son’s baby food from organic. I love that it’s still no more than 1/4 the cost of Gerber’s non-organic baby food (and it tastes better!).

Alexis November 18, 2008 at 6:49 pm

Juice boxes are like kid crack…my kids love them.

4torock November 18, 2008 at 6:52 pm

Organic is so expensive, but would love to buy it more often!

I don’t particularly buy organic but I do enjoy feeding my family from our own homegrown garden. It feels good to know where it all came from and to taste the fresh! lovemylittlefamily at yahoo dot com

As a mom it’s very important that my little one gets the nutrients that she needs from her food…something that isn’t always there when it’s highly processed. We can’t always afford organic, but I try to feed her as healthily as possible.

Elizabeth M. November 18, 2008 at 7:11 pm

I buy organic if I can afford, which is not all that often. But I do prefer to serve my children foods in the most natural state possible.

We only feed our children organic. They are bombarded with enough toxins elsewhere. The first comment said that “there is nothing wrong with us” even though she didn’t eat organic. Yet disease in this country (cancer for one) is on the rise without a great explanation. It is not the same world as our parents’ and grandparents’ generations.
It’s true that it can be expensive, but we choose to make other financial sacrifices so that we can buy organic.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I’m so concerned about what chemicals go into my child’s body through vaccinations, of course chemicals on food worry me. Organic gives me peace of mind.

-A- November 18, 2008 at 7:23 pm

Organic is ideal! Unfortuanately, mu budget is not! I try when I can. I also try to limit my daughter’s juice intact so these juice boxes seem to be a great solution!!

HILARY November 18, 2008 at 7:31 pm

WE BUY AS MUCH ORGANIC AS OUR BUDGET ALLOWS. I HAVE BEEN USING CALTALINAS TO HELP WITH THE PRICE DIFFERENCE.HILARYBUNTING@AOL.COM

Pat November 18, 2008 at 7:37 pm

I just try to get my kids to eat fruits and vegetables, organic or not

Leah November 18, 2008 at 8:52 pm

I try to get organic when it’s affordable. I mainly like to get organic veggies and fruit that we eat the skins of – apples, strawberries, red potaotes.

phishncarrie@msn.com November 18, 2008 at 8:52 pm

Organic food is important for kids because the chemicals they use on our edibles are ridiculous!

Cherie November 18, 2008 at 8:59 pm

I’m not concerned as much about organic as I am about sugar and preservative content. It’s just too expensive for me to buy only organic. I love that these are 50/50 juice and water and have no additives! I would love to get these for my son to try!

Denise November 18, 2008 at 9:36 pm

Well, organic food is on my list of things I want to accomplish some day. I have twin 3 year old and a 7 year old (all boys). I know their diet could be a ton better!

Steph November 18, 2008 at 10:11 pm

I look at it this way…why would I give my kids anything other than what’s best for them? They mean the world to me!

Days like These! November 18, 2008 at 10:27 pm

Organic food is so much healthier for kids. I want to incorporate more organic foods into our meals.

Rhonda November 18, 2008 at 11:06 pm

I have been trying to buy as much organic stuff that I can. Especially berries, milk, butter, cheese. Yes, it it more expensive, but it is so worth it to me. I do not want my children going through being overweight that I am. All the pesticides, hormones, etc. in regualar food…yuck! We don’t need extra toxins in us! Would love to try the organic juice boxes too.

Never2Late2Save November 18, 2008 at 11:29 pm

I’ve seen how these non oraganic products cause so many health issues, so I try my best to use organic.

I love it when I can give my kids organic foods–my kids love my homemade applesauce and I know exactly what they are getting. I buy it when I can afford it but try to make what I can organically.

Vanessa November 19, 2008 at 1:20 am

we try to do organic stuff too but see its just so expensive of course it would be healthier and in these hard times we are trying to do that

holy frijole November 19, 2008 at 1:39 am

I want to make sure the foods that are going into their body are as natural as possible. Organic is a great way to do that.

londa November 19, 2008 at 2:34 am

I love organic foods…but the cost was keeping us away. SO, we started our own garden and are reaping the benefits of wonderful home grown organic produce! I do splurge and buy organic, hormone free milk. I wish every mom would do that for the sake of their precious little girls!

I wish we could afford to eat organic all the time. We do buy our beef from a local farm. It is so good!

Kim F. November 19, 2008 at 3:06 am

Organic is great when you can. We can’t afford it often, so this giveaway is great! Thanks!

linda November 19, 2008 at 3:12 am

i would love to try this with my son. thank you

I try really hard to feed my daughter organic foods from the top ten list of foods with the most pesticide residue. If I can buy organic foods for only a little more or the same price as regular than why not? I don’t have to worry about MSG, high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated vegetable oil in organic foods. I like the idea of organic foods being better for the earth and using creative ways to replenish the soil and prevent pests and weeds.

I feel like I am giving my children the best I can when I feed them organic products. Even though I can’t afford them all the time, I try to incorporate them in to their (and mine) diets whenever possible.

Organic has definitely become expensive…and I sure want to use as much as possible. As long as we are eating more fruits and veggies than processed food, it is a step in the right direction. Sad that ‘way back when’ all food was organic – before we made it ‘better’ so it could sit on a shelf for 800 years.

I always want healthy things for my kiddos!

Jessica November 19, 2008 at 4:00 am

I think its very important for my son to drink organic juice for his health and for our enviornment.

Simple Things November 19, 2008 at 5:49 am

I feel that the closer to nature any foods are the better choice always. very parent wants the best for their child and organic is a great choice.
It’s unfortunate that it is so expensive and limited in variety.

I really do try to purchase organic, but I think purchasing local and USA made items are just as important for us presently and for our countrys future!

I am still learning about organic foods and trying to make my opinion about the matter.

cory dugan pulver November 19, 2008 at 12:06 pm

I feel it is our job as mothers to instill a value of what you are is what you eat. If we care about what we put in our bodies, hopefully our children will too.

Jessica November 19, 2008 at 12:46 pm

We don’t do organic everything, but there are some times organic is better, like fruits and veggies (and therefore juice).

aleshia November 19, 2008 at 1:08 pm

We try to buy organic whenever it is financially possible. I would love to eat every meal organic, I think it is very important. Thanks for the chance to win!

We don’t really get too much organic but try to buy fresh fruits and vegetables that are. But I love Mur Glen organic Tomato Basil Speghetti sauce.

tami November 19, 2008 at 3:17 pm
