Review & Giveaway: Clickfree External Hard Drive

**This giveaway is now closed.  Be sure to check out our other giveaways!**
Over the past few months my very well used laptop really started deteriorating and actually crashed several times. Luckily I was able to restore it without losing any of my files but I became more concerned the the next time I might not be as lucky and could possibly lose ALL of my precious photos I had organized on my computer. I would be heartbroken if I lost all the pictures of my son since he was born.
First I tried backing them up to a CD but I couldn’t fit very many photos on it and it wasn’t going very smoothly and I soon gave up. Then I heard about Clickfree. Clickfree is a backup storage device designed for people exactly like me! You don’t have to have any knowledge of computer technology. All you need to know is where your USB port is. Right out of the box, all you have to do is plug it in and it automatically backs up ALL your files. I couldn’t believe how simple it was! My pictures are safe! I was able to transfer them easily to a new computer so that I could still work on my digital scrapbooking.
The Clickfree came in handy again when my husband bought a new ipod touch. All of our music files were stored on an old dinosaur of a computer that is extremely slow and hard to work with. I just plugged in the clickfree and it backed up our music and I was able to transfer it to our new, much faster computer and load them on to the ipod. Now all of our music and photos are safe on the Clickfree and we have everything we need in one place.

I need this to back up and save all of my pictures and files. I live outside of New Orleans and know so many people that lost everything, including their computers, during Hurricane Katrina.
If I had one of these great external hard drives then I could just take it with me if I have to evacute for another hurricane.
Thank you for the great giveaway.

  19. Cheryl says:

Wow! Great giveaway. My computer crashed which I need for my job hunt and can’t afford a new one. A friend is letting me use an old one but the hard drive is way too small…only 4 GB which means I can’t really save any of my work on the hard drive as the software takes up all the memory. This drive could really help me in the job hunt. Thank you for your consideration! cherylaka @ Gmail.com

Besides photos, mp3s, and everything else mentioned, I’m a writer and I have several irreplaceable manuscripts on my computer. If I lose them… well, I don’t even want to think about it!! This device would at least give me peace of mind that my files are safe. I would also suggest to others that backup drives and devices should be stored away from the home whenever possible, as a precaution against fire or natural disaster destroying your backup.

Took us 8 years to finally get pregnant and when I had her, I swore the entire first year of her life would be on record. I either took a video or a digital photo. I have thousands from that first year alone. She’s almost 6 now and I had a nightmare the other night that I lost them all. This would be perfect for helping save the memories!
