Review & Giveaway: Clickfree External Hard Drive

by holly on November 3, 2008

**This giveaway is now closed.  Be sure to check out our other giveaways!**
Over the past few months my very well used laptop really started deteriorating and actually crashed several times. Luckily I was able to restore it without losing any of my files but I became more concerned the the next time I might not be as lucky and could possibly lose ALL of my precious photos I had organized on my computer. I would be heartbroken if I lost all the pictures of my son since he was born.
First I tried backing them up to a CD but I couldn’t fit very many photos on it and it wasn’t going very smoothly and I soon gave up. Then I heard about Clickfree. Clickfree is a backup storage device designed for people exactly like me! You don’t have to have any knowledge of computer technology. All you need to know is where your USB port is. Right out of the box, all you have to do is plug it in and it automatically backs up ALL your files. I couldn’t believe how simple it was! My pictures are safe! I was able to transfer them easily to a new computer so that I could still work on my digital scrapbooking.
The Clickfree came in handy again when my husband bought a new ipod touch. All of our music files were stored on an old dinosaur of a computer that is extremely slow and hard to work with. I just plugged in the clickfree and it backed up our music and I was able to transfer it to our new, much faster computer and load them on to the ipod. Now all of our music and photos are safe on the Clickfree and we have everything we need in one place.
Clickfree External Hard Drives come in 120 GB for $99.99 or 160 GB for $119.99 straight from www.goclickfree.com They are also available at Amazon for $72.99 and $96.99 and for various prices at these retailers.
Clickfree has offered our readers a special discount of $25.  Here’s how to use it:

2. go to where to buy, then “clickfree on-line store”
3. click “learn and buy” for the HD701 or the HD801
4. click “add to cart”
5. enter customer code “cfr3305”, country and zip code
6. click “go to checkout”
7. enter billing info/shipping info

Feeling Lucky?

I need a Clickfree because my computer is on its last legs. I expect a crash at any time. I would be lost without my pictures and saves. Thanks.

Just like almost everyone else, I have a load of photos I really need to backup and sometimes carry with me.

Joi November 6, 2008 at 10:51 pm

Oh Wow, my husband and I just lost all of our files including 10 pages of a photo book that I was trying to make for my parents, because our hard drive froze up and we weren’t able to retrieve any of it. I was heart broken, but have learned my lesson to always back files up, either on CD/DVD or in an external hard drive. So our next purchase is going to be an external drive. I hope I win so we won’t have to spend that money! Thank you for the chance!!

Thankyou for the great giveaway :) Last month I got a virus and ended up having to clear the hard drive. I was not able to back anything up & lost everything. All my pictures gone :( so i could really use this

AICORP November 7, 2008 at 12:28 am

I use my laptop for everything so I have lots of important work doc’s + photos + pics and backing up is a royal pain in the ___ . Anything that simplifies that task would be greatly appreciated.

Casey Becher November 7, 2008 at 12:38 am

I need this to save my pictures. I had an older laptop crash and I lost many photos of my twins when they were babies. :(

karenh722@hotmail.com November 7, 2008 at 12:43 am

My son just told me recently how much we need an external hard drive in case something happens.

joannaonthelake November 7, 2008 at 12:45 am

I know I need Clickfree after reading how easy it is to use and how much data it can store! This is an amazing gadget! As a hobby I create digital art out of my photographs using fractals. I been creating really unique art using only photographs that I have personally taken and I use a couple of different software programs that have fractals in order to create my art. Many times I create the art while I am on the road and I would absolutely be crushed if I lost some of my creations! Now that I know about Clickfree I realize I truly do need this! My laptop is getting old, and it is worrying me that it may become unreliable so this product will really give me some peace of mind to know it is backing up the work that I have done. Thank you so much for letting us all know about this genius product!

who can’t use this?? It would be great for photos, music, and all those precious documents I keep on here!

Jane November 7, 2008 at 4:18 am

I could so use this backup! I have two computers with three grandchildren doing schoolwork on them. I myself am working on a DVD of my late husband’s life. He was a sports hero in my hometown and I have pictures and newspaper clippings on my PC. It has been a lot of work over a long period of time. I’m also working on family DVDs for my grandchildren. It would be nice to have an easy outside backup.

Lucy K November 7, 2008 at 4:29 am

Great, like everyone else my pictures are the most important files on my computer and would hate to lose them. This Clickfree device sounds Awesome!
Thanks

liz November 7, 2008 at 4:55 am

I really really need a flash drive! I am in college and poor and am in great need of something to keep all my data saved rather than just emailing my papers to myself (to work on later).

Whippeteer November 7, 2008 at 5:50 am

Since I need to retrieve lots of old files from a mostly dead computer, I need this now!

heaventrees November 7, 2008 at 5:53 am

I need and would like to have a Clickfree because I never want to lose 2 years of pics again. I was a fool and had no backup when my hard drive just gave up.

Heather November 7, 2008 at 6:01 am

I definitely need one of these…I recently had my computer die on me…and I’ve lost quite a few photos and documents b/c I hadn’t backed them up. This would certainly come in handy. Thanks for the chance!

esther November 7, 2008 at 6:05 am

Would love to win this so I could back up some of my documents, photos, and other projects that I’ve worked on. Thanks for offering the wonderful giveaway!

buytruth November 7, 2008 at 6:11 am

My family travels a lot and lives in an rv over half of the time. All seven of us are active computer users. We work with a LOT of photos and documents. It can be a real pain to have to wait for the other person to finish using the computer or hard drive with the files you need to access, or to drag out the printer and set it up. Having a personal hard drive would make files a lot easier to store, work with, and print off at the library without inconveniencing someone else’s project.

Barbara November 7, 2008 at 6:26 am

We could use a Clickfree because of several reasons. We had 7 children, and 8 grandchildren so far. I have a few books written, and yet to be published, maybe, someday. Of course we have all of the photos. Barbara

I would have all of my pictures in a safe place. Thank you for this opportunity.

I’ve already had some files wiped out by a son who was only trying to be helpful–luckily I didn’t lose much. When it comes to technology, I use it but usually have trouble if there are more than two steps involved. This sounds like something I REALLY NEED! Thank you for the contest!

This is what I would need to back up my laptops. Looks easy to carry between systems.

Abigail November 7, 2008 at 8:01 am

There is no one with a pc who does NOT need this backup external hard drive. Including me.

Right now, I still have bits and pieces stored on dozens of ancient zip disks.

Kathy November 7, 2008 at 8:09 am

After using a 35mm camera for years, in May I finally got my first digital camera. All of the pictures of my granddaughters are still in it because I’m terrified to “try” to upload them onto my computer. This Clickfree Hard Drive sounds exactly like what I need.
PLEASE PICK ME!!! Thanks!

Sorry if I repeated this entry..I think I goofed up.
I got my first digital camera in May, and have loads of pix of my granddaughters in it and am not sure how to upload them to the computer. This Clickfree External Hard Drive would ensure that they were safe. Thanks!

Definitely been thinking about getting a system for back up with all my work stuff & photos…gee, I'm putting off the inevitable. Thanks for hosting!

tawnda November 7, 2008 at 12:52 pm

I need this because my children are into photo-editing and I really need the extra space for their ‘creations’

Xenia S November 7, 2008 at 1:46 pm

I would definitely use this to back up pictures of my 2-year-old daughter. We’re getting ready to have a second baby next month and I would hate to have something happen to any of the pictures of either of them because of lack of space. As it is, my laptop is always giving me the pop up message about running out of room!

Thanks!

Great giveaway! With 2 kids, we have a ton of pictures that would be a heartbreak to lose. When my youngest was 4 months old, our harddrive blew, and we lost all of our pictures! Luckily my mother in law had a ton of pictures as well. Lesson learned!

glenda November 7, 2008 at 3:31 pm
