TJ Maxx and Marshalls: Shop at your Discount Stores this Holiday Season

by mindy on December 14, 2008

So, I was also given the opportunity like Holly to shop at TJ Maxx and Marshalls and report back to you all on what great deals I found and my experience there!

I don’t know why I haven’t been to either of these stores lately because I like going there for some good deals. So, it was really nice to have this challenge because I was glad I got to go and look around. I was really surprised by TJ Maxx. I had NO idea they had a home decor section (which was half this store). I am not sure if all stores are like that or not, but it was really nice! I was really in the market for toys for my son for Christmas, but I decided to get everyone a little something. I noticed that both of the stores had pretty much the same toys for the same price which was kind of shocking because discount stores never have the same stuff it seems like. Of course with this time of year the crowd was huge and the lines were long. TJ Maxx seemed to be a nicer built store (at least the one I visited). They had a great selection of clothes as well.

Here is how I spent my $25 at Marshalls. I purchased a set of infanitino Wrist Rattles for $3.99 (compare to $5) for my son, a box of horses for $9.99 (compare to $15) for my daughter and a pack of 3 white undershirts for $10.99 (compare to $20) for my husband. I spent $24.97 (compared to $40)!

Next, I went to TJ Maxx. I purchased an izod sweater for $19.99 (compare to $36) for myself and a pair of pajamas for $4.99 (compare to $8) for my daughter. I spent $24.98 (compared to $44)!

Be sure to not forget about your discount stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls this holiday season! I need to go back for more clothes after this baby that’s for sure! :)

So, I was able to purchase something for my entire family at these great prices.
