Review & Giveaway: Scentchips Home Fragrance

by holly on February 27, 2009

Did you retire all of your candles after you had kids? I still have a few candles around the house but can’t remember the last time they were actually lit. I have a one year old who is into everything. I don’t want to risk his safety but I miss the way my house used to smell with a fragranced candle burning. That is until I discovered Scentchips. Scentchips is a highly scented, non-toxic wax potpourri. One six ounce box will scent an average sized room for five years!

There are thousands of scent combinations of Scentchips.  You can blend your own unique combination or choose from holiday, aromatherapy or “favorite” Scentchip blends.  One of my favorite blends is “Fresh Linens” which is a combination of eucalyptus, gardenia and plumeria. It smells so clean and fresh and the colors match my living room decor which is an added bonus.  The Sunburst scent (Orange, Pink Grapefruit and Strawberry blend) smells so delicious. My son thinks they are “mommy’s candy”.  Thank goodness they are non-toxic!
Scentchips can also be used in burners and simmering pots.  One six ounce box will last 140 hours when used this way.  My favorite Scentchips accessory is the electric plug-in burner because it can be plugged in out of reach of little hands.  The glass mosaic tile ones are so pretty!  Scentchips has a large selection of burners to choose from to fit any style of decor.
More Scentchip facts:
  • Scentchips are made with a high grade paraffin-soy wax blend
  • The percentage of fragrance to wax is over 12%- well above the industry standard
  • Fragrance is made with pure refined vegetable oils and get their color from vegetable dyes
  • Scentchips are non-toxic and clean when melted
  • The company offers over 50 fragrance blends and 72 individual fragrance choices

We used to sell ScentChips in a Wicks N Sticks store in Az. They are the BEST on the market. They will outlast ANY other brand and their selection is enormous. I had no idea that they were still in business since alot of the good candle mfgs have gone by the way side.

Be extremely careful when buying candles made in China. They use a water bath to cool their product and if there is the smalles crack in their cooling candles, water will fill the cavity and be sealed inside. As you burn the candle in your home and it burns down to the sealed cavity, the candle will explode. That is why they say “Do not leave a burning candle unattended”.
