Before I was married and had kids I was somewhat of a makeup snob. I shopped at department store cosmetic counters and used rather expensive makeup because I believed it was better for my skin than drug store brands. All of that changed when I got more responsibilities like a mortgage and two children. I was no longer working so that I could stay home and raise my children. There wasn't a lot of extra money to spend. Makeup became a lot less important. Don't get me wrong, I still wore it everyday- I just used items I could get for free or cheap with coupons. So when Raw Natural Beauty offered to send me their Discovery Kit for my review, I knew I was in for a treat.

I've been using Raw Minerals foundation for the past few weeks. I am amazed at how well it covers blemishes. In fact, not only does it cover them but since using it I've noticed a lot less breakouts! If you are used to using a liquid foundation, switching to a powder may take some getting used to. It is applied with a somewhat firm cosmetic brush that is included in the kit but it goes on easily and blends amazingly well. Also included in the kit is Mineral Glow- a sort of bronzer. I only tried this once because I prefer blush over bronzer but it did give a nice "glow". To set the makeup, a Mineral Veil with SPF is used. It's a translucent powder and being so, I don't see how it can do much in the way of sun protection. That being said, I recommend using a moisturizer with SPF before applying the foundation.

Now that I have returned to work part time I think I will splurge on this makeup. I like how light it feels on my skin (or the fact that I really can't feel it at all) yet covers really well. I also love that it has helped clear up some of my acne (I've come to accept that this is something I am going to have to live with to some extent since I never outgrew it!).
