Each year for Christmas I like to get my children a nice hardback storybook to snuggle up and read with them on cold winter nights. I write a message to them on the inside cover with the date. This year Scholastic sent me two complimentary copies of holiday books for my review. The first, The Christmas Magic by Lauren Thompson, was perfect for this year’s special book. Since my son is only two, it’s the first year that he is starting to grasp the meaning of things and The Christmas Magic tells a simple story of Santa and the spirit of the holidays. The second, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King is a wonderful story but it is much more suited to older children due to it’s length. Both books are beautifully illustrated and perfect for gift giving.
