Review & Giveaway: Scrapblog

by holly on January 25, 2010

I used to love scrapbooking. I have a closet full of scrapbooking supplies but with two small children, I just can’t find the time and space to do it. I used to like to spread everything out on the floor in a large area and leave it out for days while I worked on a project. I’m no longer able to do that.

When my first born started crawling I decided I would try digital scrapbooking. I bought Photoshop and gave that a try. It was complicated and much too time consuming. I got frustrated and gave up. I found the perfect solution in Scrapblog. Scrapblog is user friendly with drag and drop functions and simple tools. If you don’t have time to play around with all of the cool features like stickers, backgrounds, frames and more, you can use QuickMix and have a nice looking album in minutes. If you have more time and are feeling creative you can create beautiful scrapbook pages from scratch.

While Scrapblog is free to use, the elements are limited (though there are still plenty of freebies to work with). You can purchase items such as stickers and background from a large catalog with credits that can be earned or purchased. Once you pay for an element you can use it as many times as you’d like.

250 credits can be purchased for $5. When you purchase 2500 credits at once you get 250 credits for free. You can also earn credits for free for completing offers. For example, if you join Netflix they’ll give you 1000 free credits.

More about Scrapblog in their own words:

“Scrapblog allows users to create and personalize an online scrapbook by combining digital photos with themes, stickers and decorative backgrounds. This online scrapbook can pull photos from Facebook, MySpace and Flicker among other photo sites. The easy drag-and- drop technology and unique layouts make it easy for anyone to express themselves. Spend time customizing or let the automated function on Scrapblog do the work for you. The best part is Scrapblog is free to use — It’s free to create and share online. There are two ways to get started. With the three-step QuickMix option, Scrapblog will automatically populate a selected template with the user’s photos – this can be done in less than 5 minutes. On the other hand, the classic Scrapblog builder allows users to take more creative control and manually build elements into the creation. This is where users can purchase more elaborate kits and shop the marketplace for additional design elements.”
