I’ve started giving myself 10 minute challenges. I set my timer for 10 minutes and tackle a household chore while my children are having a snack or lunch. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish in only 10 minutes when you focus on the task. The 10 minute challenge is a weekly feature on Mommies with Cents. Each week, I will show you one of the things I was able to accomplish in 10 minutes. I encourage you to join me- it really easy amazing what you are able to achieve, even if it’s incremental, if you set your mind (and timer!) to it!
The past few days have been sunny here in the Seattle area. It’s brought on a bit of a desire to “spring clean”. A few weeks ago I received a Ceiling Fan Duster from Libman as part of the Libman Brand Ambassador program. Until recently, I didn’t even know such a thing existed and I was excited to try it out. Stiff bristles in an oval shape is attached to a handle that can be extended by twisting it. You just twist to loosen it, extend it, then twist to tighten it back up. To use it, you just insert the fan blade through the middle of the oval and brush it back and forth. The picture above is the fan above our dining table. I had no idea it was that dusty until I climbed up there to take a picture. Eww! I forgot to set my timer but it took about ten minutes to clean the fan blades. I also used a microfiber cloth and some vinegar and water to clean the glass lamp shades attached to the fan.The stiff bristles do a good job of getting the fan blades clean. The dust and gunk just sticks right to it. I did find that it was a little easier for me NOT to thread the fan blade through the middle as my fans seemed a bit wobbly. You can bend the bristle head to any angle and I just brushed it over the top.
Libman has some great cleaning products. Having new stuff always inspires me to deep clean! You can “like” Libman on Facebook and follow Libman on Twitter for cleaning tips and more.
I’d love to hear ways you manage your time at home with kids. Please share your tips with me and our other readers by leaving a comment, then come back next week for another 10 minute challenge!
