I’ve started giving myself 10 minute challenges. I set my timer for 10 minutes and tackle a household chore while my children are having a snack or lunch. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish in only 10 minutes when you focus on the task. The 10 minute challenge is a weekly feature on Mommies with Cents. Each week, I will show you one of the things I was able to accomplish in 10 minutes. I encourage you to join me- it really easy amazing what you are able to achieve, even if it’s incremental, if you set your mind (and timer!) to it!
Laundry baskets are great for more than just laundry, especially if you live in a multi-level house. I use my baskets to tote things from downstairs back upstairs where they belong. Set your timer for 10 minutes and gather up everything that is out of place- magazines, toys, clothes, dishes and any other random things you can find. Hopefully you’ll find another ten minutes to squeeze in before too long. Use it to put the item back where they go.
I’d love to hear ways you manage your time at home with kids. Please share your tips with me and our other readers by leaving a comment, then come back next week for another 10 minute challenge!
Be sure to check out all of our other 10 minute challenge posts!

I actually just did this last week…it’s so much easier to just find everything that doesn’t belong in a room and throw it in the basket and run it back to where it belongs.
One thing I do for 10, maybe 20 minutes each Sunday night is plan out my blogging schedule and personal schedule for the upcoming week. When I have it written down it keeps me accountable and I like checking things off my list!

I do that too Michelle! It makes me feel like I actually accomplished SOMETHING during my day if I get to cross something off. I have tasks for blogging/other online work, household stuff and misc. to-do things. Helps me focus on what I need to get done…

It really is amazing what you can get done in 10 minutes. FLYLady suggests things in 15 minute increments and says that you can do anything for 15 minutes.
