My kids couldn’t wait for Thanksgiving. It’s not because they love turkey or stuffing. It’s because they know that our Elf Magic Elf comes to stay with us every year after Thanksgiving is over. Last night after the kids were in bed I heard some rummaging around in the laundry room where we store our Christmas decorations. I found Wilson and another elf pulling out the kids nativity set. That’s another holiday favorite that the kids been asking about and I think Wilson remembered from last year how much they loved it. Wilson and Kaitlin set up the nativity scene on the lego table to surprise the kids.
You’ll notice that Wilson was dressed for the snow. That’s his new Elfit and I think he looks pretty handsome in it. He’s ready for a snowball fight! Kaitlyn on the other hand must have been tired from traveling from the North Pole because she was sporting her pjs and slippers and ready for bed.
McKinley was especially excited when she discovered the Elves in the morning because she had specifically requested that a girl elf join us this year. Kaitlin and McKinley are practically twins with their red-haired pigtails! I’m sure they’ll become fast friends. We can’t wait to see what sort of mischief the get into and good deeds they perform this year!
Elf Magic Elves are an annual holiday tradition that we look forward to every year. It’s not a tradition that my family or my husband’s family had, but a new one of our very own. What holiday traditions does your family celebrate? Is it a new tradition or one that was passed down?
