Our family recently had the opportunity to test out Bop it! XT. I remember this game from when I was younger. It used to be more of a stick shape but the concept is exactly the same. My kids are a bit too little for it but that doesn’t mean the Hubs and I can’t get into a heated Bop it! battle! This game is a lot of fun. Here’s more info:
Put your reflexes to the test with Bop it! XT, an electronic game by Hasbro. This fast paced game designed for ages 8+ will challenge you to “Bop it,” “Pull it,” Twist it,” “Flick it,” “Spin it,” and “Shake it” in a randomly selected order. To score points, respond as quickly as you can with the correct action. If you respond correctly, the next command will be given. If you aren’t quick enough or respond with the incorrect answer, you’re out! There are four levels of difficulty as well as settings for individual or group play. There are three volume levels plus a headphone jack for solo play. The game is designed to increase your level of concentration and improve your memory, coordination and reflexes. Bop it! XT takes 3 AAA batteries and retails for around $30.

My almost 5 year old is a HUGE Star Wars fan. In fact, he’s having a Star Wars birthday party in a couple of weeks. It’s funny because my husband and I were never really into Star Wars ourselves but we do have other family members who are fans. Will Star Wars ever go out of style? It seems highly unlikely as Star Wars fans spread across multiple generations and the toys and memorabilia continue to be produced. One of the latest toys, Star Wars Fighter Pods uses tiny collectible figures and little pods used in game play. Select a figure to put into your fighter pod, then spin, roll, or launch them. The goals is to knock down as many figures as possible. Pods can be connected together and figures can be placed on top to give them extra fighting power. There are over 100 collectible Star Wars Fighter Pods figures from all six of the Star Wars films and The Clone Wars animated series. Set them up and knock them down in a head-to-head battle against a friend. The sets retail for around $13 a pack and include 8 figures, 4 pods and 1 vehicle.
Star Wars Fighter Pods are really cool. The kids can make up their own ways to play with them, and believe me, they will! The little characters are really cute. I can really see the appeal of these and the kids desire to collect as many of them as they can! If you have little ones at home, be careful because the pieces are small. I have my son keep them in his room and he’s not allowed to bring them out. My one year old would think they look like gummy candy!
