Seat Pets Review & #Giveaway

by holly on October 10, 2012

We often take short road trips, usually up to Guemes Island in the San Juans.  Our kids play on the beach, at the park, and in the yard with their cousins.  Within minutes of getting in the car to return home, this is what we see:

They get tuckered out but this doesn’t look like a very comfortable way to sleep.  I’ve seen countless pictures of kids in similar sleeping positions on my Facebook page so I know this is a common problem.  It’s no wonder a group of savvy parents came up with a fun solution: SeatPets.  These plush and cuddly monsters attach to the seat belt and offer a comfortable resting place for your little one’s head.  The genius doesn’t stop there though.  SeatPets also feature three pockets and two zippered compartments to store small toys and activities to keep the kids busy until the rhythm of the road lulls them off to dreamland. SeatPets are especially great for long car rides because you can pack them with surprises — a snack, juice box, earbuds for a movie, crayons and a small tablet and more!  This will help prevent parents from having to awkwardly reach back and hand their children the things they might need during the trip.  The fitted fabric seat belt covers easily attach with Velcro and give kids an incentive to buckle up on their own.  Unfortunately for us, the SeatPet made it more cumbersome and difficult for my five year old to buckle so sometimes he still needs some assistance.

Dr.Toy, The National Parenting Center and Creative Child have all given SeatPets two thumbs up.  You can add the Duce Family to that list!  We love SeatPets! These plush travel toys are available in three monster styles — Whish, Awty (Are We There Yet) and Airheart.  You can find them at www.SeatPets.com for $19.99 + $8 postage and handling.

Feeling lucky?  Enter to win an Airheart SeatPet by filling out the form below.

Two words: ADORABLE and EFFICIENT. As a kid I hated wearing seat belts because they were uncomfortable and restraining; if I had a SeatPet I would’ve been excited to wear my seatbelt. Definitely going to check out the giveaway and buy a few for my nieces!

Neat invention. I’m getting one for my nephew now. Hopefully his dad doesn’t feel jealous!

Wow! What a great invention! I especially love the addition of pockets and “zippered compartments. An adult version would be fabulous as well!

Whenever I take my two nephews on long trips, they complain that their seat belts bother them – and they often fall asleep like in that picture. I hope my entry into the giveaway isn’t too late; those Seat Pets are a brilliant idea. I will definitely buy one even if I don’t win.
