Koto Go West Animated Storybook App Review

by Holly Duce on January 7, 2013

My kids are fans of animated storybooks from Light Sleepers. They love Ann Can’t Sleep and Koto Go Silence so when I saw that another book was available we were ready to check it out. The story was set up the same way as the other books, with words that are read and an animation that follows.  You tap the words on each page to start the narration.  The original story line kept my kids interested.

In “Koto Go West” Koto the sheriff dog tracks down mysterious noises and silences them to maintain peace & quiet in the Wild West.  Along his adventure he discovers that the sounds aren’t what they seem to be upon first hearing them.

“Koto Go West” is a new beautifully animated storybook app that throws users into the adventurous world of Koto, as a tenacious sheriff dog in a Wild West town. Following the chases he embarks on, through tracking down mysterious noises, Koto encourages the reader’s cognition between sound imagination and real life objects.

The animations are well done and the narration is pleasant and easy for children to follow along with.  Once again, another well done app by Light Sleepers!

“Koto Go West” is available on the App Store in iPhone, iPad and iPod touch format for $2.99. Find out more about Light Sleepers at www.light-sleepers.com.  You can also “Like” Light Sleepers on Facebook.
