Since my hubby had been to Bonefish Grill but I hadn’t, he suggested I give it a try for “Girls Night Out”. So I loaded my 5 year old and 3 year old into my minivan and off we went 🙂
The Bonefish Grill is a nice restaurant. The lights are low for ambiance which the girls thought was a little strange. They kept saying “it’s dark in here” but I think the low lighting actually kept them calmer than usual. We visited early on a Tuesday evening and were seated right away in a booth. The kids were given kids menus and some crayons. The table was covered in brown paper so they were free to color all over it which was great. The kids menus had several pages of activities too that kept them busy.
On our way to the restaurant I was asking the girls what they might like for dinner. My 5 year old said she wanted a pickle as her veggie. So when I saw fried pickles on the Happy Hour menu for only $2, I couldn’t resist. They were really yummy! We were also served some warm soft bread with butter and a pesto oil for dipping that was SO delicious I had to stop myself from eating the whole loaf.
The Hubs told me one of his favorites from Bonefish Grill is the Bang Bang Shrimp (an appetizer) so I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos which are the same spicy shrimp served in a warm tortilla with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. They come with house made chips. You get two tacos but I only had room for one after all that bread and fried pickles but it was really good!
My oldest daughter ordered chicken tenders and fries while my youngest ordered mac and cheese with fries. Both were above average as far as quality of kids meals goes. The service was great too. My first trip to Bonefish Grill will certainly not be my last! I’ve already been eyeing their Brunch menu which is only available on Sundays and includes Eggs Benedict options as well as omelets and more. The Bloody Mary which is served with a stuffed spicy cherry pepper or a jumbo shrimp looks really good too!
