This year I’ve made exercise a priority. I’ve got a great walking partner which means exercise time doubles as social time and is great for my mental health! Its not often, but the days I can’t fit exercise into my schedule my mood takes a noticeable hit. Until this year, I’d only ever run a whole mile without stopping ONE TIME. This year, I’ve done it multiple times and have even been able to run almost two miles. I know that’s not much to some people, but it’s pretty big for me.
Since I’ve added exercise into my daily routine, my wardrobe has also made some changes. Since I work from home, I can pretty much wear whatever I want. Being comfortable has also become a priority, especially when exercising. Out with the jeans, in with athletic gear! Some of my favorite articles of clothing come from Tasc Performance and Handful Bra.
I adore this black Scoop tank from Handful. It’s really cool because the draping can be worn in the front as shown here or you can wear it with the draping in the back. Either way, it looks super cute with a Handful bra worn with criss cross straps. The bras come in bright, fun colors with even funner names. This pretty turquoise one is named “twerkoise”. There’s a multi-colored one which is $4 more than the solid colors and is called “Worth the Monet”. The black bra is officially called “Booyah Black”. I love the humor and lightheartedness of this company!
The Adjustable Bra was designed to flatter, not flatten. It features convertible and adjustable straps to get just the right fit. It can be worn straight, criss cross or halter style making it a versatile bra that is perfect for all your workout tanks and tees. The buttery soft fabric features performance wicking lining and has a quick dry poly/spandex shell. The bra comes with one set of removable Lights Out pads which can be stacked for more padding if desired.
The Y Back Bra is another great bra from Handful. I love that their bras don’t have underwires or any other hardware. This particular bra features unique crochet detailing on the back and offers the same benefits of the adjustable bra as it’s made of the same materials. Both bras also have flat seems on the inside for added comfort. The Y Back Bra is available as shown here and in Booyah Black.
tasc Performance is another brand I’ve come to love. They are a family company from New Orleans with 68 years experience in textile development, garment design and manufacturing to tasc Performance apparel. They look to nature for performance, not chemicals from a lab. All of their unique fabrics are original to tasc Performance and are not available from any other brand. They use an exclusive BamCo® patent-pending fabric finishing process that gives a fantastic feel and performance to their apparel without the use of chemical enhancements.
These Riverwalk pants are so comfortable I never want to take them off. They are made with MOSOluxe (53% organic cotton/43% viscose from bamboo/4% lycra spandex) French Terry and feature side pockets and a wide rib waist band with draw cord, and ribbed ankle cuffs. When I get hot I can just push the pant legs up a bit and they still look cute. They are really soft and the relaxed fit through the thighs makes that super comfortable too!
Ever mom needs a good tee to take her from the gym to the coffee shop and everywhere in between. The Streets V is perfect with it’s semi-fitted style, UPF 50+ protection and moisture-wicking, anti-odor MOSOtech fabric (52% organic cotton/43% viscose from bamboo/5% Lycra Spandex). What I like about this tee is the body length. It isn’t too short or two long and the side splits with wide hem add comfort and style. The Streets V is available in several different colors and sells for $32.
Before I had some new workout gear I was wearing frumpy old rags that I didn’t feel good in. Having nice workout clothes makes me feel better and gives me more motivation to get out and move. tasc Performance and Handful Bras are both brands I would highly recommend. Treat yourself to some new gear this Mother’s Day!
