Whoever created The Flip was an absolute genius that dumbed everything down for people like me. Right out of the box I was able to record videos without so much as cracking the user manual. For weeks I happily took video clips of my kids. It wasn’t until last night that I actually plugged The Flip Ultra into my computer via the handy little USB connection that flips right out from the side (hence why it’s called The Flip). That’s when I fell in love. Not only is The Flip Ultra simple to use to take videos, the software is also extremely user friendly. A five year old probably wouldn’t have any problems- but then again, most five year old are probably more tech savvy than myself. I had no idea before I plugged it in that you can capture images directly from the video with a “snapshot” feature. I wish I had known! My camera has been in the shop practically since my daughter was born (she’s three months) and I could have been using The Flip Ultra a lot more often for photo purposes. That’s what I get for not reading the manual! This is my favorite feature because it is really hard to capture great shots of my wiggling baby and active toddler. The snapshot feature lets me find the perfect shot from any video clip.

The Flip Ultra is perfect for busy moms. Just toss it in your purse and have it handy for all those little moments your kids do something adorable. This review wouldn’t be complete without sharing some cute moments of my babies- so without further ado…
