My mom and I had the pleasure of seeing an advanced screening of Safe Haven a couple of nights ago. It was really nice to get out of the house and spend some time with her. We both really enjoyed the movie which hits theaters fittingly, on Valentine’s Day February 14th. A “chick flick” in it’s own right, the movie does have some suspenseful moments and some comedy mixed in to entertain the male movie goers. While the ladies go ga-go over the insanely gorgeous Josh Duhamel, his co-star Julianne Hough is equally gorgeous eye candy for the guys making the movie perfect for date night. Case in point:
Without ruining the entire plot, here is a synopsis on the movie:
“An affirming and suspenseful story about a young woman’s struggle to love again, Safe Haven is based on the novel from Nicholas Sparks, the best-selling author behind the hit films The Notebook and Dear John. When a mysterious young woman arrives in a small North Carolina town, her reluctance to join the tight knit community raises questions about her past. Slowly, she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love in this deeply moving romantic thriller.”
Alex’s children are absolutely adorable and their roles in the movie will at once break and warm your heart. I give the movie 5 stars and recommend adding it to your must-see list. For more info you can:
