Review and Giveaway: Sensible Sippers Organic Juice Boxes

I was given the pleasure of my daughter being able to sample R.W. Knudsen Sensible Sippers Juice Boxes. Here is some background on how Sensible Sippers were developed.

In 1961, when Russel W. Knudsen began bottling fruit juices from his organic grape vineyard, he did so on one condition: his fresh pressed and blended juices would never have artificial flavors, preservatives or sugar added to them. This commitment ensured that customers who came up the hill to Knudsen's Paradise, California, Concord grape vineyard could always buy the finest juice available. Little did the R.W. Knudsen Family® know, he was starting a tradition of innovation in health-conscious products.

The R.W. Knudsen Family® tradition of integrity, innovation and variety continues today. The company's commitment to developing health-conscious fruit products based on consumers' needs has led to the introduction of many refreshing ideas. To see a list of all of the products the company has to offer, visit their site: http://www.knudsenjuices.com/.

The Sensible Sippers are a very great 4.23 oz. juice box that are child friendly and unbreakable. They were the perfect size for my daughter, niece and nephew who all tried them. They sampled the apple juice and fruit punch. Obviously, I had to try a sip and I admit that my husband snuck one or two! They come with The Berenstain Bears on the boxes so they are noticable by children. The best part of the juice boxes are that they are 50% organic and 50% water, reducing the amount of sugar in each serving without compromising taste. Sensible Sippers are available in favorite kid flavors: Fruit Punch, Banana, Apple, and Mixed Berry. These juices also contain 40% fewer calories than regular juice boxes. Additionally, Sensible Sippers contain no added sugar, artificial flavors or preservatives, and are certified organic in accordance with the USDA's National Organic Program. You can find these at Whole Foods stores nationwide.

Feeling Lucky?
We are giving away a FREE 8-pack of Sensible Sippers, a kid's t-shirt (sizes 2, 4 or 6), AND a few coupons for buy one 8-pack, get the second free!!! How generous is this??? We're not overly concerned about organic foods - I mean, I never ate organic and my parents never ate organic and there's nothing wrong with us. There's about a gazillion other things we have to worry about.

Of course, food that is grown and prepared without all kinds of chemicals is the ideal, not just in terms of health but also because it just tastes better. If I could put nothing but organic food on the table, I'd be delighted.

But - let's face it - organic food, desirable as it may be, is a luxury for many of us. Organic food isn't sold everywhere, especially in lower income neighborhoods, and it costs more, often much more. Until some serious changes happen in the way our country produces and distributes food, organics will remain a rare treat, or even a dream, for the majority.

I try my best to have my family eat organically, but it can be hard with how expensive organic food is. I look for the healthiest foods that are within my budget!

We try to feed our daughters organic food as often as possible. Its been shown to have more vitamins and minerals, and conventional food is treated with so many chemicals and hormones. Which brings up the question, shouldn't organic food just be called "food", and the rest of the stuff be called "chemically treated food"?

I think it's important to try and limit exposure to too many chemicals. Sure, some exposure will probably not be harmful, but constant exposure seems like it could very well lead to problems. The whole axiom of better living through chemistry has been taken way too far. There are easy ways to limit how the exposure of my little ones to chemicals such as eating organic. It doesn't hurt anyone for me to live more naturally and eat organic, so why not?

As a 3 time cancer survivor, I know how important it is to eat organic, or as organic as you can. If it's important for me, it's important for everyone, no matter what the age. There are so many pesticides, chemicals, etc. put on our food. With fruit coming from other countries, we have no idea what's on that. I've had 2 nutritionists tell me to eat as organic diet as I can. We don't need these chemicals in our bodies.
Babies depend on us to take good care of them. Please, buy organic whenever you can. You & your families won't get chemicals from them.
