I really like using mineral makeup, not only for my eyes, but as a foundation. The best way I’ve found to apply it is with a Kabuki brush. The flat top style works best for applying it to my face. Before I tried it, I thought it would just cake it on. In fact, it does the opposite. I provides the perfect amount of coverage for a flawless finish.
- Conceal: Round Kabuki — Use with liquid concealer or foundation for custom coverage
- Bronze : Angled Kabuki — Use to expertly apply bronzer and blend to create a natural looking glow
- Contour: Domed Kabuki — Enhance the fullest point of your cheeks by applying blush in an upward motion with this brush
- Buff : Flat Top Kabuki — Buff on powdered foundation, the smooth to remove excess for a flawless finish
EcoTools’ Limited Edition Beautiful Expressions Kabuki Sets are available at Walmart and Target stores for around $13. Check out www.ecotools.com for information on the whole collection.

I had a kabuki for powder foundation a few years ago and loved it! My toddler hid it after playing with it though.

These brushes would work well with the Pur Minerals I use.

Mineral makeup is definitely the ONLY way to go! I will never use another liquid or stick, or any other kind of base/foundation ever again. Once you go minerals, you cannot go back. And the kabuiki brush makes the finish simply flawless without effort!

I like to use my kabuki brush to apply my mineral makeup, then I double dip into my blush–the remaining mineral makeup minimizes the severity of my blush and offers additionaly coverup–then I continue to my lids and apply the blush to my eyelids for additional color there. It is an all-purpose tool. I don’t need anything else 🙂
