Twittermoms and Vaseline are looking for 10 great ways to use vaseline Petroleum Jelly and have asked us to compile ours. I can’t say I am a huge vaseline user, but I can definitely come up with some original ideas. 🙂 So, here are mine:
1. To let your kids write in the vaseline. Have you ever heard of using chocolate pudding to let your children practice writing letters? Well, dye the vaseline and let your kids go to town. They will need baths afterwards, but it definitely works!
2. Use Vaseline as chapstick. This is an old trick I have known since I was little thanks to my parents. It keeps your lips nice and soft to seal the moisture.
3. Put Vaseline on your teeth. I heard this many years ago. Many beauty pageant contestants put Vaseline on their teeth because it makes them smile. That is crazy to think about, but I admit I have never tried it either.
4. Apply to your hands and feet at night. After applying, stick a sock on them and wake up with soft hands and feet!
5. Put the Vaseline on your eyelids (or under for that fact) to get the makeup to stay longer. You’d be amazed how long your makeup lasts after applying before your beauty routine.
6. I have used it on scrapes before. I apply to the area and then cover with a bandaid. In a few days it is all healed!
7. Put the Vaseline on your lips to make the lipstick stay longer. I have also been known to add powder after this so it’s not so sticky.
8. Here is a great trick that many stars use. Vaseline is a good makeup remover even. Put a little vaseline on the area and then wipe the makeup right off! Voila!
9. If you dye your hair, putting Vaseline around the scalp helps eliminate the dye from sticking to your forehead and staining. Neat idea, huh?
10. If you have dry skin anywhere (legs, elbows, etc…) put some Vaseline on to moisturize those areas. I would personally do a small area as it can be overpowering if you were to put it along your whole leg for example.
