Holly started giving herself 10 minute challenges and since I am blogging today, I challenged myself. I set my timer for 10 minutes and tackle a household chore while my children are having a snack or lunch. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish in only 10 minutes when you focus on the task. The 10 minute challenge is a weekly feature on Mommies with Cents. Each week, I will show you one of the things I was able to accomplish in 10 minutes. I encourage you to join me- it really easy amazing what you are able to achieve, even if it’s incremental, if you set your mind (and timer!) to it!
Since my husband deployed Wed., I am determined to slowly organize this house. I figured I will start in 1 room and move around the house. First top was 2 of my dresser drawers. I knew I couldn’t get much further in 10 minutes, so I only chose 2. These were stuffed FULL of t-shirts, tank tops, long-sleeved shirts and pants. I could barely open them as you can see. For the life of me, I have no idea why these will not flip their rotations, so I apologize!!
In 8 minutes I was pretty much done except I needed to take the clothes that I took out of the drawers and put them in a Goodwill box. It’s amazing how fast 10 minutes passes, but how easy it is to get things done too that I wouldn’t have wanted to do otherwise. Here are the 2 drawers now:
I’d love to hear ways you manage your time at home with kids. Please share your tips with me and our other readers by leaving a comment, then come back next week for another 10 minute challenge!
