Meijer contacted me asking if I would like to review their jewelry. What do you think my answer was? Of course!!! I was sent $75 in gift cards and was able to choose anything I would like.
The store experience:
So, I headed to Meijer to experience their jewelry section. I was greeted by a lady where I told her I was looking for jewelry to review and explained why. I came across a section of jewelry that matched a necklace my husband had given me years ago. He couldn’t afford the earrings at the time, so I thought it would be nice to have some earrings to match. While I was deciding between a few pairs of earrings the associate asked if she could help some other people. I replied, “Sure. No problem.” Well, little did I know that she wouldn’t come back to help me. I politely asked after standing and waiting for at least 15 minutes while she was putting inventory away if she was helping anybody else. She said she was waiting on the cash register. Long story short, I finally got helped and purchased a pair of earrings that were 70% off and then there was a 20% coupon in a flyer at the front of the store! Yay!! While waiting on my purchase, the associate informs me they are out of the earring holders and needed to put them in a necklace holder. Ooook. Not a huge deal. As she was doing this, she lost one of the backs to my earrings. She had the nerve to replace the back with one that didn’t even match. I was floored! I told her I wanted a back that matched. She proceeds to try to give me one of those plastic circle backings. No way! Not for a NEW pair of earrings. I asked if we could just use a back from another pair which is what she finally did. Long story short, she couldn’t figure how to ring up the gift cards. After 45 minutes though, I FINALLY had my earrings! I have to admit that I am completely disappointed with this service and it will definitely make me think before purchasing jewelry there ever again. I have never found Meijer’s customer service to be the best, but this was uncalled for in my opinion. The department wasn’t even busy.
The jewelry experience:
As far as the earrings go, I LOVE them (excuse the bags under my eyes…yuck)! They are a pair of earrings I would not particularly buy for myself as I usually stick to studs, but I think they are great! The total was $68 (and change) after the coupons and 70% discount. These earrings were originally $300!!! Yes, you read that right!
So, all-in-all, Meijer has great jewelry and very affordable as well! I hope that your stores are better with their customer service since I have a bad taste in my mouth with my store right now and I hate that because that is where I like to do all of my shopping. Check out this week’s ad as there is a 10% off coupon and some great jewelry advertised!
