I grew up with the Berenstain Bears and I love that new books in the series are still being published. In fact, I just learned that the early books were written by Jan and Stan Berenstain, a husband and wife team. Today, the books are written by Jan and Mike Berenstain. After Stan’s passing, his son took over writing along side his mother and many of the stories are inspired by his own children.

Perfect for an Easter basket surprise, The Easter Story and All Things Bright and Beautiful are the latest additions to The Berenstain Bears series of books which were first introduced in 1962. In The Berenstain Bears All Things Bright and Beautiful, Brother and Sister Bear take a nature walk with their Sunday school teacher and learn that God is the creator off all things in the beautiful spring environment from strawberries to ducks. In The Easter Story, the bear siblings and Honey Bear discover the real meaning of Easter isn’t all about chocolate bunnies and jelly beans when they watch a play entitled The Easter Story. Both of these paperback books come with stickers and retail for $4.99 each.
I really enjoyed reading these books to my kids and they enjoyed them as well! They thought it was really cool that there were stickers inside. I especially liked The Easter Story because I think it’s important for my kids to know the true meaning of Easter. The story was kept simple and easy for kids to understand. Both books were illustrated just liked I remembered from my own childhood and We loved the bright colors and extra details in the drawings. My son goes to a christian preschool so I’ll be sending the books with him to school to share with his class. I’m sure his preschool friends will love them!
