I’m pretty particular when it comes to skincare since I’ve had issues since my pre-teens. I always use sunscreen or makeup with SPF on my face and prefer products that are fragrance free. When I heard about Likewise skincare like I was excited to give it a try. Dermatologist Dr. Julie Pena founded her own line of products to address the concerns of her patients. The Likewise line of products are formulated to protect the skin from sun damage and minimize the signs of aging. Start with the Likewise Face +Body Wash. This mildly exfoliating and hydrating wash is the ideal prep for Likewise fragrance-free moisturizers. Find the right one for your skin type:
- Anti-Aging Facial Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin — This moisturizer has anti-aging antioxidants and niacinamide, which helps calm dry, irritated skin and reduces redness—including redness associated with rosacea.
- Anti Aging Facial Moisturizer for Normal to Oily Skin — This blend balances oil and acne-controlling azelaic acid with soothing, calming niacinamide and also contains potent anti-aging antioxidants.
- Anti-Aging Facial Moisturizer for Oily Skin — This mattifying moisturizer is formulated with azelaic acid to help control oil and blemishes and reduce hyperpigmentation.
All three moisturizer formulas have SPF 50 built right in.Using the Likewise Face + Body Wash along with the right moisturizer for your skin will keep it in great condition and minimize the effects of aging from the sun.
Even though the Face + Body wash was citrus scented, I really liked it. The combination of hydrating shea butter, amino acids and alpha and beta hydroxy acids, including malic, glycolic and salicylic acids help regenerate and revitalize making it smooth and soft. Since suds can have a drying effect, this wash was formulated to be low sudsing. I was a little concerned about this because a luxurious lather is always nice. I was pleasantly surprised. The lather was just right. Not too foamy, but enough that you could still feel like it was doing it’s job. A little of this stuff goes a long way so don’t be discouraged by the small bottle.
The same can be said for the moisturizers. A pea sized amount is plenty! I love that there are formulations for different skin types and the anti-againg facial moisturizer for oily skin was just what I needed. It performed well under my foundation and I didn’t have any issues with greasiness.
Of the two products, I liked the Face + Body wash best.
