SuperCool Art, the manufacturer of exceptional, inspirational and educational creative products, recently launched a series of painting and drawing kits that allow people of all ages to bring out their inner artist while learning basic art skills in a fun way.
SuperCool Art Kits are designed to meet the needs of every artistic level and budget. Using themed stencils, aspiring artists will have the ability to draw or paint while learning basics like color theory, scale, composition and proportion. They’ll have a blast using their creativity!
SuperCool Art Kits offer 9 different themes to choose from: A Day at The Beach; A Day at The Zoo; A Night in Space; Dinosauria, Frolicking With Fairies, UnderSea Adventure, Peace, Love, Art; Abstract Art; and Family Roots. New themes will be available and range from Holiday Themes to Outdoor Excursions to CityScapes of the worlds most interesting skylines.
SuperCool Art Kits are available in six different sizes, including:
- Deluxe Drawing Kit – 3 sheets of 19” x 25” cotton paper, set of 12 Koh-I-Noor Woodless Pencils, 2 erasers, pencil sharpener and a SuperCool themed stencil set.
- Super Deluxe Drawing Kit – 3 sheets of 19” x 25” cotton paper, set of 24 Koh-I-Noor Woodless Pencils, 2 erasers, pencil sharpener and a SuperCoolthemed stencil set.
- Small Paint Kit – 11” x 14” canvas, set of 7 paint brushes, 6 vibrant paint colors, 2 artist palettes’, Bristle Magic and a SuperCool themed stencil set.
- Medium Paint Kit – 16” x 20” canvas, set of 10 paint brushes, 7 vibrant paint colors, 2 artist palettes’, Bristle Magic and a SuperCool themed stencil set.
- Large Paint Kit – 24” x 24” canvas, set of 14 paint brushes, 11 vibrant paint colors, 2 artist palettes’, Bristle Magic and a SuperCool themed stencil set.
- Wall Art Stencils – 24” x 60” SuperCool themed stencil.
We received “A Day at the Beach” medium paint kit (pictured above). It comes packaged in large mailing tube and has everything you need to make a canvas painting. My middle child loves to create so this was right up her alley. We’ve had some problems with her supplies not being used as they should be so I had to closely supervise this activity. Be sure to set aside a decent amount of time!
I didn’t really follow the directions and while it worked out alright, I probably should have! First I punched out all of the stencils. This is something my almost 5 year old couldn’t do on her own — they were a little tough to get out and there are a lot of them offering lots of options for your painting! Since I had clipped the canvas material to her easel tracing the stencils on in an upright position was very awkward. If I would have followed the directions properly, she could have done this with a little bit of help at the table on the stretched canvas. Instead I just asked McKinley where she wanted things and traced them on for her. She was getting a bit anxious to start painting at this point but I should have had things better prepared for her before hand! We learned about mixing colors with the included color wheel and talked about how the different sizes and shapes of the paint brushes worked. Since this project took a little longer than I was expecting, we had to cut it short to pick my son up from school. She’s been begging to finish her masterpiece ever since! Hopefully we can carve out some time soon so she can work on it.
The set is really nice. It comes with plenty of paint and the paint brushes are good quality. I love that most of this kit can be used again and again for other projects. The directions for building the frame are easy to follow but you will need a hammer and a stapler.
