We love roasting marshmallows when we go camping or when we are in the backyard hanging out around the fire pit but the kids sort of lose interest in sitting around the fire once the ‘smores have been devoured. Last week when we went camping we tried something called Funky Flames that turns the flames of any campfire or wood burning fireplace into colorful flames. Just toss a packet directly on the fire and you’ll be watching blue, green and purple flames dancing instantly. The colored flame crystals turn your fire into a brilliant light show as the beautiful colors take over.
The kids thought this was really night and I found it sort of mesmerizing. One packet will provide up to 30 minutes of colored flames but you’ll get the best results if you use multiple packets at the same time. Sold in a box of three for around $8, this novelty is fun for campfires and bonfires but is not to be used while cooking food over the fire so make sure you do your marshmallow or weenie roast first!
