We love getting new books at our house. One of our recent favorites is Baby Baby Baby written and illustrated by Marilyn Janovitz. My almost 2 year old loves this board book. So does Mommy! Books with rhymes are great for helping kids learn the words.
In this adorable board book, little baby does various activities with each member of the family, including Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Kitty, and Puppy.
“Bitsy bouncy baby
On a bumpity lap
Mommy’s baby likes to
Clap Clap Clap”
I like to read it like this “Bitsy bouncy baby, On a bumpity lap, Mommy’s baby likes tooooo……?” and let her try to guess the rest of the phrase. Because of the rhyme, it gives her an extra clue to go along with the picture. Then we clap our hands together. Other things that the baby does in the book with each member of the family include, hugging and kissing which of course I can’t get enough of!
McKinley likes to read the book over and over and since it’s a short and fun read, I am happy to oblige! It’s a fun way to spend time together.
