What do you do for “Me Time”? – How do you treat yourself during a busy day? What part of the day is your “me time”? How long do you take time out for yourself? Do you like to read a book? exercise? What is your “me time”?
“Me Time” for me is a rare occurrence. These days I consider a 5 minute uninterrupted shower “me time”. With three kids age 3 and under and a husband who works full time it’s really hard to find time to take out for myself. Every couple of weeks though, it becomes necessary before I lose it. Sometimes I get a pedicure with my mom or a friend, sometimes my husband takes the kids out just so I can have some quiet time. I usually spend that time working or cleaning the house but it’s still nice not to have to worry about the little ones!
I’ve been thinking lately that some regularly scheduled time should be penciled into the schedule for my sanity. I’d love to hear how others spend their “me time” because I don’t think I’d know what to do with myself! So, how do you spend your “me time”? How do you make sure you get time to re-charge?
I have a 4 year old, 2 year old and a baby due in July, me time is after the kids go to bed when I finally get to watch something on tv!
I never get “me” time. Sometimes I have to just disappear for 10 minutes before dinner and go to a quiet spot and flip through a magazine. That little bit of silence and relaxing really helps!
I spend my “me” time writing and crafting. I find both very relaxing and puts me back in touch with “me”. I think I am an example that spending just a bit of me time is good for our family and for ourselves. My family is so proud of the things that have come about because I spend my “me” time (creating my blog and vlog, as well as being invited for a TV appearance, speaking invitations) and my daughters see it as an example of what a “mom” can accomplish. I get refreshed by spending time on things that feed my soul, and my family wins a prize by having a happier mom!
With working a full time job with 4 kids and an Executive Chef husband. My “me time” is sometimes hiding in the laundry room to fold clothes. But at least once a week my husband will take care of the kids so that I can go take a bath and read a book for about an hour with a glass of wine. This seems to be the only time no one is yelling “mommy” and seems to be the unspoken rule not to bother me during this time. I think without this I would probably lose it by the end of the week.
