Being a nanny for over 9 years before I became a parent, I had the opportunity to check out a couple of different children’s gyms. Little Gym and Gymboree were two that I attended with the tots in my care. Both were similar and I am sure comparable to MyGym which we do not have in our area.

I was recently sent a My Gym at Home DVD for my review. It is basically just short snippets from the classes they do in their gym. Each has their hello song, a couple of activities to do with your child and the good by song. When I put in the DVD I was actually prepared to do the “class” with my two year old but I think my 5 month old had more fun with it. My son just ran around yelling about the basketball hoop in the background. At least he got some exercise!
I liked the DVD because I could do the activities with my daughter without having to take her to the actual classes. First of all, this is a much more frugal option as these types of classes can be a bit pricey. At this age, the socialization factor doesn’t really come into play- at least in my opinion. Secondly, I like that I can fit in these mini classes when I have the time. Packing up my little ones and toting them about is no small task. Call me crazy (or lazy) but I prefer to stay home.
