My husband LOVES teriyaki. When I make it at home though, it never compares to take-out. He still likes it but I don’t…. Until I discovered a great teriyaki sauce recipe on food.com It’s the same thick, sweet, delicious sauce they use in restaurants and it’s easy to make! Here’s the recipe if you want to give it a try:
Ingredients:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 cup garlic powder
5 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1-2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
Directions:
- Mix everything but the cornstarch and 1/4 cup water in a sauce pan and begin heating
- Mix cornstarch and cold water in a cup and dissolve. Add to sauce in pan.
- Heat until sauce thickens to desired thickness
- If it gets too thick just add a little water to get the consistency you prefer.
