A lot has changed since I was a little girl in terms of sun protection. It’s importance has become very apparent. My children know that they don’t go outside before I slather them with sunscreen. It’s never too early to teach our children about sun safety. According to kidshealth.org most kids accumulate 50-80% of their lifetime sun exposure before the age of 18. A single severe sunburn can increase the chances of developing skin cancer. Wearing protective clothing, limiting sun exposure and using sunscreen are the best ways to protect ourselves from the harmful effects of the sun. Sunbow has created a kid-friendly sunscreen to help get kids excited about sun protection. Available in Dora The Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants packaging Sunbow Zinc Oxide formula sunscreen is water resistant, hypoallergenic and pediatrician tested. The sunscreen which goes on colored then fades to clear so you can apply it properly offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Protect your children from sun exposure year round with fun and easy to use sunscreens from Sunbow. Products retail from $7.99-$12.99 and are available at www.sunbowsunscreen.com and drugstore.com.
We received the sunscreen spray and the Zinc Oxide Cream to try. My kids were really excited about the characters on the packaging and couldn’t wait to try it. Our first opportunity was at my son’s t-ball game. I really liked the convenience of the spray which made it quick and easy to apply. It had a yellow tint so I could see where I had put it and where I still needed to apply it but it rubs in to clear quickly. While my children don’t have a problem getting their sunscreen on, I know other children hate it and it becomes a struggle. I think the character packaging can be a real help in that department. When the kids are happy, Mom & Dad are happy, right?
