This does not exactly fit in the theme of our blog, but that’s what’s so nice- it’s our blog and I felt the need to share. 🙂
My family visited Holiday World this weekend. If you are from the Indiana/Kentucky area, then you know what theme park I am talking about. It is such an awesome park. They have great rides and a really nice water park.
Not only is this park clean and affordable, I was so happy to learn they had a nursing room. The room is connected to the First Aid building. It is an air-conditioned room with about 6-8 rocking chairs, towels, changing station, microwave and sink. This place is so user-friendly and is greatly equipped for all feeding mothers. I am not always great about nursing in public and if I do, I use my wonderful Bebe Au Lait! Not only is it a great place to nurse in a more private matter, it is also so great for the babies. It was a hot day and my son was able to cool off in the air-conditioning. He also wasn’t easily distracted by a ton of other people around.
I am just so pleased how places are becoming more nursing-mother friendly and this is a huge shout out to all other businesses. They all need to recognize how many mothers nurse and would love a quiet, peaceful and relaxing place in order to do so. Huge props to Holiday World and their recognition in the need for this!
What are some other great places that you have come across that have a “safehaven” for nursing mothers?

Wow, that is really great! I don't do well nursing in public either (cover or no cover) so your post was encouraging. I haven't seen any nice set-ups like that in my area but will certainly be on the lookout!
Several of my local malls, as well as IKEA have nursing rooms. It is wonderful to have a private place to nurse while out and about.
Baby's R Us has a great nursing room. There are a couple of rocking chairs, two changing stations, and free diapers and wipes. They also hand out juice boxes and fruit snacks on Saturday's, so they've got my business! We stop by while running errands, just to feed, change, and check out the clearance aisle!
They have these at Disney World too. They also have them at some malls I've visited.
It really is great to see more businesses providing nursing areas. I really like the newer malls in my area that have nursing areas. I also applaud establishments that have family restrooms, so that I can take both my kids in at once.
Motherhood maternity in the Dayton Mall said they let the ladies nurse in the large dressing area, which is nice. Like you said it is hard to find a place to Nurse. Thanks for the post.
Personally speaking, I don't have a problem nursing in public. However, it is nice of Holiday World to offer an air conditioned space! As we all know, nursing can get quite warm!
I applaud the companies and places adding nursing areas. I am a big pro public nursing mom, I figure no need to hide what is completely natural however I am glad companies are adding these place they are sure to be much more comfortable than sitting on a bench somewhere 🙂
