I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour conducted by Clever Girls Collective on behalf of Children’s Claritin®. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program.
We’ve all been affected in one way or another. You know, the yellow dust all over your car- yeah, that’s pollen. Achoo! I have always been affected by allergies. When I was younger, I was very prone to headaches because of sinuses and allergies. Now, I am faced with horrific allergies due to the high pollen. It’s to the point where allergy medicine will work except for the fluid that is stuck in one of my ears. It can be so annoying.
I’ve noticed that my children are also affected by the allergies right now during the spring. I once heard eczema is a form of allergies too, but I have yet to confirm that. My children are covered in eczema- especially my first son. They are still too young to really give them any allergy meds. So, what do you do when your children’s allergies act up?
The only things I really know to do is to keep them inside as often as possible. I wash their clothes after they have played outside as well as their hands and feet. I have also found that saline nasal sprays are a good way to help drainage and clear the blockage caused by allergies. Don’t forget to change your air filters. These will help keep the dust and allergens to a minimum. Also, make sure to dust the dirties away. Dust can be an allergen for many. Vacuum your carpet if you have a filter on the vacuum. Otherwise, it will just spread all of the particles in the air. Bleck.
So, what are some things you do to keep allergies to a minimum in your household? I’d love to hear so I can incorporate them into mine.
