My husband had last week off of work but we planned on sticking around instead of taking a vacation. We worked on some projects around the house and took the kiddos to the zoo. I hadn’t been to the zoo since before my kids were born and I was surprised how expensive it is!
This little outing could have become a huge expense but with coupons and planning, we had a fun day at the zoo for just over $20. I packed a lunch, snacks and drinks to avoid having to pay for over priced junk food inside the gates. With ticket prices at $16.50 for adults and $11 for children I was glad I had a purchase-one-admission-get-one-free coupon from our Entertainment book (both of our kids were free- 2 & under). Then we had to pay for parking.
If you haven’t purchased an Entertainment book and your thinking it’s too late because the year is more than half over, think again! When you reserve your 2010 copy, you’ll get the 2009 edition for FREE! There is still PLENTY of time to get your money’s worth and more out of this little book. Summer time is the perfect time to use it too! As you can see from my zoo experience, just one coupon can save quite a bit of money. Entertainment books usually contain some high value coupons for local attractions. I actually like to use my Entertainment book to help me plan things to do. We’ve used a coupon for a local children’s museum and we plan on using another for a visit to the aquarium. There are even grocery coupons in the Entertainment book– I’m tellin ya- you can’t afford NOT to buy one!
