If you’ve never been to Kookie Krazy in the Thousand Oaks area of California, you are missing out. I myself have never visited but after discovering it’s existence and sampling some cookies, traveling two states away almost seems worth it just for the fun experience! Don’t fret though, Kookie Krazy cookies can now be created and ordered online.
Kookie Krazy was founded by two life-long friends, Mark and James, who wanted to create a place where kids could go and create a cookie of their dreams. The store provides the pre-made dough, with six flavors to choose from (sugar, plain, oatmeal, chocolate, peanut butter and espresso) made from James’s own recipes. After selecting the dough, kids (and adults!) can choose from dozens of mix-ins from candy bar bits to dried fruit. You make it, they bake it. Next, take a trip through the toppings bar which features chocolate syrup, sprinkles and other goodies.
Kookie Krazy cookies are made with pasteurized egg whites from Eggology Inc. It is safe to eat uncooked. The shop even sells cups of raw dough to snack on.Milkshakes, ice-cream sandwiches, Kookie cakes, gift baskets and ready-to-go Kookies are also on the menu.
Kookie Krazy’s store and party room are inspired by Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It’s that sort of magic that kids will experience while visiting Kookie Krazy.
For those of us who aren’t able to visit the store in person, Kookie Krazy has created a sort of online experience. While not quite as fun, the Kookies are just as delicious. Use the Kookie Konfigurator and come up with a yummy concoction. Once you place your order, your cookies will be delivered within two days.
I let my hubby decide what to order for our review. He chose plain cookie dough with Snickers and cashews. We waited impatiently for them to arrive. My two year old son kept asking for “the package man”. Needless to say, we didn’t waste any time when they showed up. We dove right in and they were delicious. Each cookie was individually wrapped which was nice.
My mom is known for her cookie making abilities and my husband didn’t think Kookie Krazy cookies were quite as good as hers (though they were close!) Mindy’s hubby on the other hand said “These are the best cookies I’ve ever had!” They chose Crunch Bar and pecans in plain cookie dough.
With all of the combinations available there is sure to be something to strike your fancy. I am already dreaming of what my next order will be. This time I won’t be letting the husband decide. I may just hide the whole bucket for myself!
