At our house we desperately need new windows. Many of our locks don’t function as they should. We resort to putting sticks in the windows for added security. Master Lock has created a sort of window stick that doubles as an alarm. It is battery operated so I was shocked at how loud the alarm actually is. It’s earsplitting!
Since it is adjustable, you can use it in a variety of different sized windows or doors. We are using the sample Window Bar we received for this review in our second story slider that exits onto our deck which is in need of repair. It worries me that my two year old can unlock and open the door and possibly get out there where it isn’t safe before I can catch him. The Window Bar is the perfect solution until we get our deck repaired. The alarm is pressure sensitive- any attempt at opening the door will trigger the alarm. From the outside, the word “ALARM” in large red letters clearly identifies itself to act as a deterrent to thieves.
