Today’s Tip from The Green Year: 365 Small Things You Can Do to Make a Big Difference is: Wear an extra sweater.
As the temperatures start to cool, resist the urge to turn on the heat. Instead, use an age-old strategy to keep warm: Wear an extra sweater. Keeping the thermostat turned off as long as possible will save a lot of energy (and keep your bills low)
We do this at our house as much as I hate it. I love the fall weather and wearing sweaters but I also love a warm cozy home. To get the cozy feeling I use a scent diffuser in a fall scent like cinnamon or clove (find out how to get a free one here) or bake something like an apple crisp, a hearty soup or chicken pot pie.
Fall has just arrived in the last few days and the mornings are cool. I like to wear thick cozy slipper socks around the house and snuggle with my kids and our favorite blankets.
