The JuiceBox widget on my sidebar is full of money this week. Mint.com (an awesome and free way to manage AND SAVE your money online) is the sponsor. Saving money is obviously near and dear to our hearts here on this blog, and I’m excited to see that JuiceBoxJungle has added an ecard which you can send right from the widget to tell a friend how and where you saved money online. Please feel free to pick your favorite deal on this page right now and email it to a friend! You’ll help them and help me gain new readers!
The current video on the widget is about how one family teaches their children about money using a piggy bank system with giving, spending and saving. It’s a simple idea and a great way to start kids on the right track. Our children are still pretty little to grasp the concept fully but my son is almost two and a half (and pretty smart if I do say so myself!) so it’s time for us to start thinking about simple ways to teach him about money. How does your family teach children about saving and spending? Do your children receive an allowance? Do they earn it by doing chores? I’d love to hear the creative ways other families are teaching their little ones about this important issue. Please share by leaving a comment!
