I was recently sent this Shortcut Desserts Magazine to review. It’s filled with some really tasty looking treats that are supposed to save you time and who doesn’t love to save time? Not me.
I decided to make the Pumpkin Spice Cake. The cake smelled really yummy and tasted good. It wasn’t the best Pumpkin Spice Cake I’ve ever made, but it was quick and simple to make. I would have added some real pumpkin to the recipe to spice it up some. It would have made it perfect, probably!
I like the pictures the magazine has. I’m a big picture person when it comes to cookbooks. It’s printed nice and the pages are thick for being a magazine style dessert cookbook. It also has many, many recipes – 123! Tons of cakes, pies, cookies, etc. I drooled all the way through the magazine!
Overall it’s a nice addition to your stash. I wouldn’t say it’s gourmet, but the point of it, remember, is that it’s supposed to save you time by taking “shortcuts”.
On newsstands now, Shortcut Desserts costs $9.99 and can also be downloaded as a digital edition on Zinio at www.Zinio.com.
