Simon Flash Review & Giveaway

 

I remember playing the classic Simon game with my sister when I was little.  It was a lot of fun and I have to admit, I got pretty good at it!  I love games like this that are fun yet actually help build a skill.  In this case, memory and quick reflexes.  I was excited to find out that Hasbro came out with a completely updated version of the game.

The classic Simon game is back with a whole new twist in the latest version, Simon Flash.  It’s four games in one!  Using Wonder-Link technology, the colored cubes know where you shuffle them, keep your score, and know when you win.  The games include:

• Simon Lights Off (yellow game) — See how quickly you can put the cubes in the right order to turn them all off
• Simon Shuffle (red game) —  Line the cubes up in their original order after being scrambled
• Simon Secret Color (blue game) — Unlock the code by putting the cubes in the order that show the same color on all four cubes.  There’s only one solution.
• Simon Classic (green game) — Remember and repeat longer and longer sequences of colors by pressing the buttons in the correct order.

All of the games can be played independently or you can challenge a friend.  Simon Flash comes with 4 electronic cubes, a game case, rules, a quick play card and 8 AAA batteries.  It retails for around $30.

The packaging says the game is for ages 8+ but I think even younger kids can get the hang of this game.  I love the variety of several different games in one and I love that the game is compact and doesn’t take up much room in the game closet!  I’m going to have to challenge my sister to a game of Simon Flash and see who’s still got it!
