The wonderful people at Small Steps sent us some really great usable products for a review. While we are nowhere near perfect, we love to be able to help our environment in any way that we can. By using Marcal Small Steps products we are one step closer to accomplishing this task.
Since 1950, Marcal has been using paper waste instead of trees. Marcal offers products such as toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue and napkins. My first thought when trying the toilet paper was that it felt “cheap.” it is definitely not a soft cushy type, but it is made from recycled paper and lasted longer than a regular roll of “typical” t.p. I got over my t.p. snobbiness and it really didn’t bother me at all. My husband never even said a word about it either!
I used the dinner napkins for my son’s birthday party and they were definitely very worth it! I would’ve never guessed they were from recycled paper! For some reason we are not big on napkins as we use paper towels, but I would even use these to blow my nose that’s how nice they were. 😉
Here is a little bit of information on Marcal’s brand from their site:
Small Steps by Marcal® brand products focuses squarely on the company’s green heritage. For over five decades, Marcal has been saving trees and reducing landfill by making its paper products from recycled paper. Marcal uses paper collected from curbs in residential neighborhoods in cities and towns across America; from the small blue baskets in office buildings, unwanted junk mail, and waste from printers; all in an effort to do something good… to produce something that people need.
Marcal has generously offered one of our readers a Small Steps kit which will include items such as t.p., paper towels, napkins, etc… Find out how to enter below. Also, check out our current giveaways here.
What a neat surprise to find this Marcal Small Steps "starter set" on my step this morning! Thanks so much!
