One of my favorite deals during this event is $1.00 off Yoplait Multi Pack or 32 oz. yogurt which will be available for download on March 5th. Yogurt is a staple in our house and something we pick up on nearly every grocery shopping trip. My kids eat it plain or with a little granola on top for a snack. It becomes a special treat by adding sprinkles! But one of our favorite ways to eat yogurt is in smoothies. I typically buy Vanilla because it goes well in any kind of smoothie but any flavor will do for most fruit smoothies. One of our favorite smoothies is Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana. Here’s the basic recipe:
CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BANANA SMOOTHIE
1-2 ripe bananas
2 Tbsp peanut butter
1 packet of Chocolate instant breakfast, hot chocolate, chocolate protein powder, chocolate syrup, chocolate milk or whatever chocolate you have on hand.
1 tray of ice
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup of milk
Add everything to the blender and blend until smooth. You might need to add a little more milk if it’s too thick for your liking. We also like to add a large handful of spinach. Green smoothies are awesome! This recipe makes enough for 3 kids and an adult but is easy to adjust to your needs.
Yogurt is the perfect snack for kids because it’s healthy but tastes like a treat.
