Today’s Tip from The Green Year: 365 Small Things You Can Do to Make a Big Difference: Close your curtains!
Keeping your curtains closed during the winter will help prevent heat from escaping and keep the cold air from seeping into the house. Make sure your curtains are not blocking heat registers, which can force your furnace to work harder.
I actually notice this makes a huge difference. While I hate blocking out the sunlight, I can really feel a cold draft when I put my blackout blinds up when it’s cold out!
