Do you have a daily ritual that brings your family together? Before I had kids I always dreamed that I’d have the perfect family. We’d eat dinner every night at the dining table and chat about our day. Now I’m living the dream. While it’s not always sunshine and rainbows with a 4 year old, 3 year old and one year old it’s the one time of day we can always count on being together. I know in a few years I’ll look back and laugh about all the spilled milk and craziness of dinner time with toddlers and a preschooler. The best nights we have together are “breakfast for dinner” nights, especially when it includes orange juice. There are never any complaints when we serve breakfast and orange juice. Food doesn’t get thrown on the floor either because it’s practically inhaled. Needless to say, “breakfast for dinner” is almost always on our weekly menu plan.
Right now coming together for dinner is easy. My husband gets home from work at a reasonable time and our kids aren’t in any evening activities. I know in the future this may change but I hope we’ll be able to work around our schedules to stick with this daily ritual. Our conversations over dinner are pretty comical and I love it but I also look forward to more in depth conversations and deeper topics as the kids start to grow up. Sometimes we just need to think of cool things to talk about with our kids aside from just asking about their day. Since they like orange juice so much, maybe we’ll talk about where orange juice comes from. Turns out, it’s pretty interesting:
- Tropicana buys more of Florida’s oranges each year than anyone else — approximately 11.6 billion oranges!
- They use those oranges to make Tropicana Pure Premium which is 100% pure Florida orange juice
- The oranges come from 22 different groves, mostly in central and southern Florida
- Due to different microclimates and soil types, the fruit reaches it’s premium ripeness and different times so Tropicana can harvest it throughout the entire growing season.
- Valencia and Hamlin oranges are the primary varieties used to make Tropicana Pure Premium. One has a more intense color and flavor while the other one is sweeter.
- Oranges have been grown in Florida since the 1950’s, approximately 147 years before any other state in the U.S. Many of Florida’s orange growers have had a relationship with Tropicana since the 1960’s
- A 59 oz container of Tropicana Pure Premium has 16 fresh picked Florida oranges squeezed into it and a single 8 oz glass gives you 100% vitamin C which helps you maintain a healthy immune system.

I think it would be a lot of fun to visit an Orange grove. Did you know that some growers sample oranges by cutting them into a cup shape and drinking the juice directly from the cup? Can’t get much fresher than that! I’d love to sample the juice that way! One lucky winner in the Tropicana sweepstakes might just get that opportunity when they win a trip to a Florida orange grove for themselves and 3 guests including roundtrip airfare and a 3 night stay at a Florida hotel. 99 winners will also win a one year supply of orange juice in the form of 12 coupons for 59 oz Tropicana Pure Premium containers. For official rules and regulations, visit the “sweeps” tab on Tropicana’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/Tropicana. To be eligible, be sure to “Like” their fan page.
Good luck!
