When I was asked to review The Shred Sled, I have to admit I was a little hesitant. The Shred Sled is a caster board and first 4-wheel inline, dual-deck board. I am definitely not the type to skateboard, rollerblade or any of the sorts. Plus, I had found out I was pregnant a few weeks before, so I would definitely not hop on something I could not control. So, I decided the best people for this job were my nieces and nephews. Of course, this was a hit at our family get-together!
The Shred Sled seemed a little hard to balance, but once they caught on, they sure caught on! Instead of pushing off the board like a regular skateboard, riders use their hips, legs and arms to move The Shred Sled, similar to movements used to propel surfboards and snowboards. It really combines skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding into one unique sport. The Shred Sled is so great because it promotes physical activity and gets your children off the couch. The only con that I see is that The Shred Sled is a little pricey at $120. It would be a great Christmas gift for your little one though and they will be getting exercise, which is great.
