Our agent stressed the importance of keeping things clutter-free, especially in the kitchen where counter space is at a minimum. That means I have to keep dishes washed and put away. Luckily it’s not much of a problem, even when our meal ends with an empty pan of baked on gunk. Dawn Power Clean dish soap works like a full soak in just 5 minutes.
My after dinner routine for keeping my kitchen clean & clutter-free:
- Kids clear their places as my husband or I load the dishwasher
- Pans or casserole dishes get soaked with Dawn Power Clean and hot water while I sweep the floor and wipe down the counters.
- Kids and hubby put Pj’s on and go downstairs
- I quickly wash and dry the stuff that has been soaking and put it away.
- I scrub and polish the cooktop, spot check the floors and wipe down chairs, walls or the sliding glass door if needed.
- I join my family downstairs for some snuggles before bed
These days I’m paying a little more attention to detail than normal but it’s only taking a few extra minutes and the results are totally worth it. Instead of keeping mail on the counter I make sure to open it, file the things we need to keep and toss the rest. This is probably the hardest part — not letting any clutter hang around. I take care of some of it while I am making dinner. While I’m waiting for water to boil or the oven to pre-heat I might put away a load of laundry or walk through the house picking up out of place items and returning them where they belong. A mom always multi-tasks, right? It’s the best way to stay on top of things! What are your tips for keeping your home clutter free?
My husband is notorious for letting things soak. He hates washing pans so he always leaves them in the sink saying they need to soak. I can’t stand going to bed with dishes in the sink so I always scrub the pan myself. I’m really digging the new Dawn Power Clean dish soap because it really does work! Forget the elbow grease, dirty pans wipe right out after a quick soak. No more excuses for the hubs while helping out in the kitchen!
Have you tried Dawn Power Clean? What did you think? Did it save any time in the kitchen? I’m wondering what else it might work good on besides dishes. Let me know if you have any ideas!
