I’ve always got my eye out for toys my kids can play together. My oldest is 5, my middle child is 3 and my youngest is almost 2 so it’s hard to find something they’ll all understand and enjoy. The Wonderworld fishing game is simple yet fun and Parker, my littlest, can get in on the action.
Wonderworld, a toy company with a deep concern for the environment makes many of their toys from rubberwood, an environmentally-friendly replantable wood. The more toys they make, the more trees they plant. In 2012 alone they will plant 17,200 trees. The non-toxic paints, dyes and lacquers they use are made with special color extracts from nature such as plants and flowers making them friendly to children and the environment. Even the glue they use is formaldehyde free. The packaging they use is made from at least 70% recycled paper meeting their commitments to the environment. The toy we received is the Wonder Fishing Game which teaches color recognition, spacial awareness and hand-eye coordination. Designed for ages 3 and up this simple game is played by rolling a single die. The players have to catch the matching color fish. Whoever catches the most fish wins! The set comes with a die, three magnetic fishing poles and five colored fish with magnetic eyes. The Wonder World Wonder Fishing Game for preschoolers retails for around $20.
My kids like to get this out and play it together. Sometimes they make up their own rules or just go fishin’ without using the die. The game is well made and I love that there aren’t a bunch of pieces to get lost. I also love that I don’t have to worry about Parker or any of my kids for that matter, putting the fish in their mouth because the materials used to make them are non-toxic. Wonderworld’s full product line includes sorters, stackers, balance bikes and furniture and more! Be sure to check out everything they have to offer at www.wonderworldtoys.com.
