Chicken is the main source of protein at our house. We love grilled chicken but I hate cleaning the George Forman Grill and we still need to buy a new barbecue. Our new stove has 4 regular burners and one double burner in the middle. We’ve been dying to try it out but didn’t have the right pan for it. When I saw the Nordic Ware Double Burner Reversible Grill Griddle at Kohl’s I knew it would be perfect. I’m all about having two products in one!
This griddle is unique in that it sits right on top of 2 of your stove’s burners (if you don’t have the long middle burner like we do). One side has raised ridges perfect for grilling steaks, seafood, chicken and veggies while the other side is smooth — great for eggs, pancakes and more! It’s large enough to cook family sized meals all at once. That’s a huge plus for us since we tend to make large meals and have family over a lot.
Made from solid cast-aluminum and finished with a durable nonstick coating, this heavy duty pan heats evenly, retains heat, won’t warp or rust and is easy to clean — you can actually put it in the dishwasher! A huge improvement over my George Forman Grill that I dreaded cleaning. The side wells hold draining grease so you can cook healthier! I put it to the test with grilled chicken. I just used boneless skinless chicken tenders with Char Crust Roasted Garlic Peppercorn Dry Rub. It cooked it amazingly well.
I wish I would have used a marinade instead so you could see the awesome grill marks better but this chicken came out juicy and delicious. As you can see, I could have cooked a lot more at once — there is plenty of room on this grill to easily feed a large family without having to cook twice. Once dinner is over and the dishwasher has been ran, you can hang the gril on a hook or rack with the convenient holes in the corners. I just put mine neatly inside my pan cupboard.
Next we are cooking burgers. I can’t wait to see how they turn out. I love that we can grill indoors now since the weather here still isn’t great. I tried a new recipe for potato wedges to go along with the chicken and they came out pretty good so I’ll share it with you:
Ingredients:
5-6 medium potatoes cut into wedges
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp kosher salt
olive oil spray
Directions:
Spray potato wedges lightly with olive oil. Place dry ingredients in a large ziplock bag then add potato wedges. Close the bag and shake to coat. Bake in preheated over at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. Increase the temperature to 450 degrees and continue cooking until desired doneness.
